SUM1.0 SP16 does not work correctly
Hi experts,
I want to convert to SAP S/4HANA on-premise edition 1511.
Currently conversion phase, following error occured when I run SUM1.0 SP16.
Could you tell me any solutions?
1.I downloaded SUM1.0 SP16 and started SUM with following command.
cd/usr/sap/<SID>/SUM./STARTUP confighostagent<SID>
2.Then opened Web browser with following URL.
https://<hostname>:1129/lmsl/sumabap/<SID>/doc/sluigui
3. In the dialogbox, I entered the usename<sid>adm and password, but it did not proceed to the next screen due to error.
"File not found" "Fire fox can't find the file at https://<hostname>:1129/lmsl/sumabap/<SID>/doc/sluigui/index.html"
I tried the SP15, but it was same.
Minimum condition of the browser has been cleared.

S/4HANA 1511 SPS1 : Vertex needed for a Canadian company ?
Hello,
We just finished installing and patching S/4HANA on premise edition 1511 to SPS1, we are now going though the SAP Best Practices Notes, and are really confused. Maybe you can help clarify ?
As far as I understand it, we only have two choices when deploying S4 Hana best practices ,based on "localization"
- SAP Best Practices S/4HANA on premise edition Germany
- SAP Best Practices S/4HANA on premise edition USA, (For which, Vertex licenses and installation are needed)
Am I missing something here ?
As a Canadian company, we would choose the USA edition ( based on localization), but on the other hand we do not need the US taxation tool (VErtex),
and definitely do not need
The SAP notes (2247743 - Information on the installation of SAP Best Practices S/4HANA on premise edition USV2) insist that there are some serious risks NOT to install Vertex.
Any help.clarifications would be really appreciated.

Is the "S4HANA Master Guide" hidden like an Easter Egg?
Dear Users,
I can find all other Master Guides but not the one for S4HANA. Who has an idea where SAP hid the S4HANA Master Guide? Or did they change the name of it? Should we use the one for Netweaver 7.5?
I'm grateful for every hint!

I haven't seen a Master Guide for all SAP/4 implementations on this portal. My impression is that SAP/4 leverages HANA to remove older tables, streamline (or eliminate) older processes,add Fiori UIs, etc. SAP/4 is less of standalone product-line architecture per se (e.g. HANA itself), and more of an architectural change or re-engineering approach to existing application modules. For a general understanding, this document SAP S/4HANA - Frequently Asked Questions - Part 8 - 1511 update is helpful as is the Cookbook @Virinchy mentioned in an earlier response.
For a more in-depth approach, the docs for S/4 Finance (Simple Finance) On-Premise Edition are a good example of the types of docs that I would consider to be the technical master guide for interpreting the types of architectural changes SAP/4 introduces.

Hello Raoul,
Vertex is used in the Best Practice content for the US to calculate the sales tax.
As the Vertex connection is also used during the activation, a connection (including a valid license) to Vertex needs to be in place before the activation. Is you don't have this the activation will stop in some places with errors - hence the information about the risks by not having a Vertex connection when installing S/4HANA On Premise for the US.
An alternative would be to consider activating the German version. This includes settings for Value Added Tax which I understand is also used in Canada. You would have to delete the settings for Germany and add the settings that are needed for the Canadian requirements, but that way you would avoid the issue around the Vertex license.

we implemented SP01 for On Premise 1511, activated recent SAP Best Practices package DEV2,and set up the system following new administration guide, also we have done all additional steps for configuring app Manage Your Solution mentioned in your discussion and we are getting no errors any more in /n/IWFND/ERROR_LOG, but when we try to Configure Your Solution-Start, we get only blank page with no content in it. We tried to insert the path of the ICF service node (URL)like /sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/SAKP_GENUI_ANN, but task execution stopped with following message:
And we also cannot find SAKP_GENUI_ANN service, we cleared all caches but still we get blank page without errors in /n/IWFND/ERROR_LOG, in developer tool console we get following:
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?

Simple Finance on BW
Hello Experts,
Please I have a question I hop I could get clarification on.
Is Simple Finance designed to be used in BW? If so, will the new universal journal table (ACDOCA) have an extractor such as previous tables in finance (e.g 0FI_AP_4, etc) and compatible BI content (0FIAP_O03, 0FIAP_C03) and even a query (0FIAP_C02).
Does SAP have recommendation for using Simple Finance on BW, and if so, what is it or where can I find documentation on that?

Hi Jakob,
if you have a look at the document linked to Dmitry's post (SAP S/4HANA Analytics & SAP BW Data Integration) http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-68337
it looks fairly clear that HANA Live is a solution for Business Suite but CDS views will be the future and baseline for S/4HANA reporting and will also serve as the basis for it's extractors to BW. When I read this document (slides 10 and 11) I understand that the CDS views will become readily available to BI reporting interfaces via Bex Query designer as a transient provider. (The same way we used SAP InfoSets to access SAP data via BI tools). As Lumira can access Bex Queries, you shouldn't have a problem getting at your CDS view.

thanks for your posts! Because of your helpful answers I think there is no classical master guide which I was used to have. E.g. help.sap.com/erp --> SAP ERP > SAP ERP 6.0 EHP8 > Master Guide
Under help.sap.com/s4hana > "SAP S/4HANA, on-premise *" it doesn't exist obviously
